Lisa Tertsch and Rostislav Pevtsov Win Funchal ETU Sprint Triathlon European Cup
On October 19th, the Triathlon European Cup was held for the third consecutive year in Funchal, where over one hundred athletes from 24 different nationalities were present.
Athletes would have to complete a Sprint Triathlon race with 750m swim, 20km cycling and finishing with a 5km race.
The biggest European Cup winner in Women’s Elite was German athlete Lisa Tertsch, finishing the race at 1:00:22. In second place was the Italian Luisa Iogna-Prat and in third place the Spanish athlete Xisca Tous.
In the Men’s Elite, we had 53 athletes, where, like last year, the first place was an incredible sprint in the finish line, requiring the photo-finisher system. Thus, the big winner of the Men’s Elite race was Rostislav Pevtsov from Azerbaijan, followed by Samuel Dickinson from Great Britain, both with a total time of 00:52:00. In third place was the German athlete Tim Hellwig.
